Short Abstract

Current pipeline and portfolio management practices cancel too many marketable (safe and effective) compounds upstream while advancing too many unmarketable compounds downstream. Pipeline physics, an improved model of pipelines, can reduce these problems. It identifies limitations in current practices while providing new insights for evaluating compounds, selecting compounds and shaping a pipeline. This webinar provides a practical introduction to pipeline physics, presenting practices that make drug development more productive.

This webinar will provide participants a high level understanding of:

  • A dynamic, pipeline model, which replaces commonly used, static pipeline and portfolio models.
  • The fundamental relationships that govern a pipeline’s behavior.
  • Limitations of current compound evaluation and selection practices.
  • Why organizing drug development to better manage uncertainty is more productive than striving to maximize value.
  • How uncertainty adversely affects current pipeline and portfolio management.
  • How to use your pipeline to better manage uncertainty.
