Gregory J. Wells earned MS and Ph.D. degrees in organic synthesis from The Ohio State University under the direction of Professor Leo A. Paquette. At DuPont Medical Products and later at Cephalon, Inc., he was a Senior Scientist and Group Leader in Process Development and Medicinal Chemistry departments, a co-inventor of the blockbuster drug Losartan for hypertension, as well as several clinical candidates in the areas of kinase and PARP inhibitors for cancer therapy, including CEP-9722, currently in Phase I/II clinical trials for solid tumors. As the Safety Manager for the Medicinal Chemistry Department at Cephalon, he was responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and was HAZWOPER certified as a First Responder team leader for incident response and management. Dr. Wells currently serves as a consultant for the chemical and pharmaceutical industry.
